Hensingham ARLFC have announced Jessy Joe Parker as the club's new coach for 2022 National Conference League season.
Locally well known, Parker left Whitehaven after spending a memorable career with the club which dated back to 2012.
The centre has 13 caps for home country Papua New Guinea, featuring in two Four Nations tournaments and two Rugby League World Cups.
A statement on the club's social media revealing the news this week read: "JJP needs no introduction to the local community as he has cemented himself as a firm fan favourite since joining Whitehaven in 2012.
"We are delighted to bring someone on board with his experience. Jessy shares our vision of building on the club's successful youth and learning together as we go forward into a new National Conference League season."
Training at the club takes place on Tuesdays, 7pm-8pm, and Thursdays, 6pm-7pm, at Copeland Athletics Stadium and kicked off on December 7 - new and old players all welcome!
