Kevin Sinfield OBE takes on 'The Extra Mile'

Kevin Sinfield OBE takes on 'The Extra Mile'

Former England, Great Britain and Leeds Rhinos Rugby League legend Kevin Sinfield OBE is running ‘The Extra Mile’ on Monday 22November and Tuesday 23November to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leeds Hospitals Charity.

The mammoth fund-raising effort will see Sinfield run from Leicester Tigers – the Rugby Union club at which he is currently Defence Coach - to Leeds Rhinos, the Rugby League club where Sinfield spent his entire career lifting the Betfred Super League on seven occasions.

The run will be split into 7km sections, to mark Rob Burrow’s iconic shirt number – the Rugby League star who is currently living with MND. Each section is to be completed within an hour before the next leg starts an hour after the previous.

Beginning at 8:40am on Monday 22 November at Welford Road in Leicester, Sinfield will finish at Emerald Headingley Stadium on 8:40am on Tuesday 22 November.

Sinfield is aiming to raise £100,000 which will be equally split between the MND Association and the appeal to build The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds.
