Ata Hingano joins Leigh Centurions

Leigh Centurions have completed the signing of Ata Hingano from Salford Red Devils ahead of the 2022 Betfred Championship season.

Hingano was part of Tonga’s 2017 Rugby League World Cup side which made it through to the Semi-Finals of the tournament before being narrowly defeated by England.

Prior to his spell with the Red Devils, the 24-year-old had come through the ranks at New Zealand Warriors before also featuring for Canberra Raiders in 2018.

On the move, Hingano said: “I am really happy to be joining the club. It’s a great move for me and having met my teammates this morning we are all focused on helping Leigh Centurions back into Super League.”

Head of Rugby, Chris Chester, added: “Ata is a great signing for us. He has experience of playing in the NRL and can cover halfback and hooker. He gives us some quality in the spine of the squad, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
