A huge weekend for Community Rugby League

The 2021 Community Rugby League season draws to a close this weekend with a mouth-watering NCL Grand Finals Day triple-header at Featherstone Rovers.

Thatto Heath Crusaders and Wath Brow Hornets will face off in the NCL Grand Final while Kells, West Hull, East Leeds and Clock Face Miners will also be in action, live on Our League from 11:45am.

Elsewhere, the Girls’ season comes to an end with an U14 and U16 double-header at Victoria Park with Dewsbury Moor facing Ashton Bears in the opener before the U16 Grand Final between Oulton Raidettes and Thatto Heath.

As the 2021 season concludes, changes are set for the 2022 Community Rugby League season with the introduction of Our League Active – Rugby League’s brand-new participation membership scheme designed to help support the development of the Community Game.

Our League Active will form part of the registration process for participants ahead of the 2022 Community Rugby League season and will give them access to a wide range of fantastic benefits.

RFL Director of Participation and Development, Marc Lovering said: “We’ve been through an extensive consultation process and are very grateful to everyone who has helped us shape Our League Active and ensure it offers value for money.

“As we’ve moved through the consultation phase and explained the rationale behind participant membership the majority have understood the advantages of membership and how it will help deliver a more sustainable sport.

“The possibility of a membership scheme has been talked about for over a decade and it’s great we are finally in a position to launch.

“After another challenging year we can all look forward to 2022 with real optimism knowing it will end with the Rugby League World Cup.”

After an extensive consultation process, Our League Active membership fees have been set based on feedback from Community players, clubs and the RFL’s Community Board.

  • Adults - £24.00
  • Youth and Junior (U18) - £18
  • Primary (U11) - £12
  • Cubs are Fee
  • Reduced fee for social variants of the game (Masters, Touch, X-League) - £15
