Wakefield Trinity confirm double signing

Wakefield Trinity have announced the signings of Tom Lineham and Liam Hood from the start of the 2022 season, with both players agreeing two-year deals.

Hood is currently representing Leigh Centurions in the Betfred Super League and the Scotland International has previously featured at Leeds Rhinos, Salford Red Devils and Widnes Vikings.

Lineham joined Warrington Wolves back in 2016 and has made over 100 appearances for the club, helping the Wolves lift the Challenge Cup in 2019 as well as featuring in two Betfred Super League Grand Finals during his time with the club.

On the move, Lineham said: “Wakefield is a really tough place to go, and the club have some great, skilful players, who play a good brand of Rugby.

“That is something that really appealed to me and, hopefully, I can come in, work with the group, with new players, coaches, and constantly continue to develop my game.

“It’s a new challenge and one I am really excited about.”

Hood commented: “I’m buzzing to be honest! I live in Wakefield now, so it is nice to be closer to home.

“I feel that I am probably playing the best Rugby of my career at the moment. I am 30 in January, so I believe that I am coming into my prime now and playing at my best.

“I am just looking forward to getting there and ripping in.”
