Fixtures confirmed for conclusion of Betfred Women's Super League Season

The battle to reach the 2021 Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final will resume next weekend, with two big matches to be shown live on Twitch.

On Saturday (August 21, 415pm kick-off), Castleford Tigers host Leeds Rhinos at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle – a repeat of the 2019 Grand Final.

Then on Sunday (August 22, 2pm kick-off), St Helens host York City Knights at the Totally Wicked Stadium in a repeat of the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final.

One match from each of the remaining four rounds of the BWSL Play-Offs will be shown on Twitch before the Semi Finals which are scheduled for the weekend of September 25-26 – before the Grand Final at Emerald Headingley on Sunday October 10.

The Betfred Women’s Super League Shield, for the five teams who were in the bottom half of the table when the season paused last month, resumed last weekend with wins for Featherstone at Wakefield and Huddersfield in a thriller at Warrington.

That means the pressure is on Wakefield and Warrington when they meet at Victoria Park on Sunday (230pm), with Bradford Bulls returning to action when they face Huddersfield at Lockwood Park on Tuesday night (745pm).

The Shield will also have Semi Finals on the weekend of September 25-26, before a Final at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Sunday October 9 as part of a double header of Women’s Rugby League.

(Also this weekend, it’s the Semi Finals of the inaugural Betfred Women’s Super League South in Aldershot on Saturday, with the Army facing Golden Ferns at 1pm before London Broncos take on Cardiff Demons at 3pm – and both games live on Twitch.)
