Betfred Championship Round-Up

Featherstone Rovers extended their 100 per cent record to 12 matches with a 32-10 win at Widnes Vikings in the Betfred Championship.

Nu Brown led the way with a hat-trick as Rovers' dominance continued with a perfect warm-up for the 1895 Cup final against York City Knights at Wembley next weekend.

Leaders Toulouse Olympique, the other side with an unblemished record, made it nine wins in succession with a 32-12 victory over Batley Bulldogs with Paterika Vaivai scoring twice.

Ex-Bradford Bulls boss Brian McDermott's arrival as coaching consultant at Oldham could not change his new side's fortunes as a 10th defeat of the season was inflicted by his former club.

Joe Keyes (three) and Brandon Pickersgill (two) led the scoring in a 54-22 victory which maintained Bulls' third place in the table.

London Broncos responded to the departure of head coach Danny Ward in midweek following a heavy defeat at Featherstone with a 50-20 trouncing of struggling York City Knights.

The win-less visitors recovered from an early 18-0 deficit to reach half-time 20-10 behind but the Broncos raced away after the break with Chris Hankinson and Will Lovell finishing with two tries apiece, while Ollie Leyland scored his first professional try.

York are now without a win in six matches heading into Saturday's cup final against Featherstone.

Conversely, Halifax Panthers recorded their sixth win in a row courtesy of Curtis Davies and Matt Garside to maintain the pressure on Bradford in third.

Newcastle climbed into the top half of the table with a 24-12 win at home to Dewsbury Rams.

A fourth victory in five matches was assured thanks to second-half tries from Ukuma Ta'ai and Alex Clegg.

Sheffield Eagles won their first match in a month with a 30-22 victory over bottom side Swinton, whose wait for a first point of the season heads into a 14th match, with Ryan Millar scoring a hat-trick and Oliver Davies adding the other two tries.
