Betfred League 1 round-up

Carl Forber's last-gasp interception try snatched a 34-28 win for Workington Town against Rochdale Hornets to keep the pressure on Betfred League 1 leaders Barrow Raiders.

The scores were level at 28-28 going into the final minute when Forber raced over from 30 metres for the game's decisive try, which he converted.

Workington had hit back after trailing 14-6 at half-time, responding with second-half tries from Jamie Doran, Jake Moore, Brad Holroyd and Conor Fitzsimmons to remain second in the table, two points behind Barrow.

The visitors got their noses in front thanks to first-half touch downs from Lewis Sheridan and Luke Fowden, with Dec O'Donnell going over for the home side, and second-half tries from Rochdale's Shaun Ainscough, Ben Moores and Fuifui Moimoi were not enough.

Matty Beharrell's late converted try rescued a point for Doncaster in an 18-18 draw at Hunslet.

Beharrell weaved his way over in the 79th minute and then added the extras to keep Doncaster a point behind Workington in third place.

A late penalty from Dave Gibbons put Hunslet 18-12 up and appeared to have sealed victory after Ross Peltier was sin-binned for Doncaster, but Beharrell's late effort denied them.

Barrow registered their seventh straight win - 24-14 at London Skolars - to maintain their 100 per cent record.

The Raiders took control in the first half with tries from Jake Carter, Luke Cresswell and Harry Swarbrick before Charles Hammond touched down for the Skolars.

The home side went over again in the second period through Errol Carter, but Tee Ritson's 70th minute try restored the Raiders' advantage.

Bottom club West Wales Raiders remain winless after their first seven matches as they went down 60-10 to North Wales Crusaders in the season's first Welsh derby.

The Crusaders led 20-0 at half-time thanks to two tries from Rob Massam, with Tyme Dow-Nikau and Matt Reid also touching down.

Reid and Dow-Nikau claimed their second tries after the interval and Connor Aspey also added a double.

David Evans went over twice for West Wales, but the Crusaders finished strongly as Brad Billsborough, Cam Brown and Patrick Ah Van went over as Massam also completed his hat-trick.
