Barrow remain unbeaten

Betfred League 1 Round-Up

Barrow Raiders maintained the only perfect record in the Betfred League 1 table following a convincing 60-10 triumph at West Wales Raiders.

Barrow ran in 11 tries in total with Tee Ritson scoring a hat-trick and three goals, while Nathan Mossop (2), Connor Terrill, Danny Marrow, Ryan Duffy, Declan Hulme, Shane Toal and Mark Tyson also crossed.

Ryan Johnston kicked a further five goals for Barrow, while Jamie Murphy scored tries in both halves for West Wales - who also had Ewan Badham and Ieuan Badham sin-binned in Saturday's only fixture.

Workington Town kept on the coat-tails of Barrow with a 34-20 victory over Keighley Cougars.

Chris Thorman's men put last week's defeat to Doncaster behind them with a commanding six-try performance.

Brad Holroyd (2), Jake Moore, Caine Barnes, Matty Henson and Rhys Clarke all crossed as they made it four wins from five, with Carl Forber kicking 10 points.

Josh Slingsby scored a brace and further tries from Brenden Santi and Taylor Prell proved in vain for Keighley.

Matty Beharrell led the way for Doncaster as they followed up last week's win over Workington with a 46-12 beating of London Skolars.

Converted tries from Richard Wilkinson and Lameck Juma put the Skolars 12-0 ahead before Doncaster ran riot.

Beharrell scored two of his side's eight tries and added seven conversions. Jason Tali, Liam Johnson, Danny Bravo, Ollie Greensmith, Sam Smeaton and Ben Johnston also crossed.

Two tries apiece from Alex Rowe and Simon Brown helped Hunslet Hawks to a 36-22 win over Rochdale Hornets.

Rowe and Brown both crossed twice along with Joe McLean and Tom Ashton as the Hawks did enough to get their second win of the season. Dom Brambani and Jy-Mel Coleman both kicked three goals each for Hunslet.

Sean Penkywicz, Lewis Sheridan (2) and Declan Sheridan scored tries for Hornets, while former New Zealand forward Fuifui Moimoi was sin-binned in the first half.

North Wales Crusaders also won for the second time as they beat Coventry Bears 36-12.

Tries from Tyme Dow-Nikau, Rob Massam and Tommy Johnson gave them a commanding 16-0 lead at half-time.

Dow-Nikau crossed again after the restart and Massam completed his hat-trick, with Ben Morris also touching down in a comfortable win. David Scott and Sam Bowering scored consolation tries for Coventry.
