Academy Origin | Lancashire 36-6 Yorkshire
Lancashire overcame Yorkshire 36-6 in a convincing Academy Origin performance on Sunday at Warrington's Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Matthew Foster opened the scoring for Lancashire, Harry Smith kicking the first of six goals from as many attempts to hand the home side a 6-0 lead.
That quickly doubled through Jayden Hatton, before Jack Welsby's converted effort handed his side an 18-0 half-time lead.
The interval didn't halt their momentum as Ethan Havard grounded a loose kick within minutes of the restart.
Reece Hamlett then bagged a try on the hour mark, before John Hutchings scored impressively in the corner.
Though Tyler Dupree did hit back with a late try for Yorkshire, converted by Mikey Lewis, it was Lancashire who held out for a comfortable win.
Women's Origin | Lancashire 16-10 Yorkshire
Lancashire won the battle of elite Women's Rugby League as they ground out a hard-fought 16-10 win over Yorkshire at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Wigan's Michelle Davis opened the scoring on ten minutes, Castleford Tigers full back Tara Stanley with a touchline conversion.
Yorkshire quickly hit back through Leeds Rhinos captain Lois Forsell, Cas' Katie Hepworth with the extras to make it 6-6.
Despite chances for both sides, defence was on top and the scores remained level at the break.
Yorkshire hit the front shortly after the restart, Hepworth gathering a kick from fellow Tiger Georgia Roche to touch down, though she couldn't convert her own try.
But Lancashire fought their way back and Wigan back Becky Greenfield darted over following England captain Andrea Dobson's pass, Stanley keeping her 100 per cent record with the boot to make it 12-10.
Despite Yorkshire's best efforts to fight back late on, it was Lancashire who sealed the win in the dying seconds - Greenfield with a slick delayed pass for St Helens' Katie-May Williams to score the final try of the day.
