Salford Red Devils boosted their Betfred Super League survival hopes with a second successive win in the Super 8 Qualifiers over Widnes Vikings at the AJ Bell Stadium.
The Red Devils’ half-backs Robert Lui and Jackson Hastings were once again in commanding form with one or the other involved in Salford’s five tries in the 32-6 success.
Junior Sa’u scored two tries for Ian Watson’s men, while Ed Chamberlain had a perfect day with the boot, kicking six goals from as many attempts against his former club.
For Widnes, who have now lost their last 15 games, staying in the top flight will prove an extremely tough task on this evidence.

Salford head coach Ian Watson said: "We spoke about making sure our attitude was right. We played as a team to get the result but there were obviously individuals who came to the fore on the back of that.
"Since Jacko (Hastings) came in, Rob (Robert Lui) has been freed up. We showed a lot of professionalism to get wins against two Super League teams."
Interim coach Francis Cummins said: "Salford showed a lot of patience and had a good kicking game but we made a lot of errors – some very, very basic mistakes.
“We showed some character towards the back end but we weren’t good enough with the ball."
