Greenmount-Sponsored Cornish Rebels notched 13 tries against Tarka Storm at the South West RL Magic Weekend in Newton Abbott this weekend.
Club captain Jamie Prisk, debutant fullback Dan Hubble and 18-year old stand-off Ben Plummer all took hat-tricks, whilst hard-hitting second row Pete Mabbott and player-coach Mike Abbott both bagged a brace each.
The Storm started well, quickly grabbing two tries but the Rebels showed their class in the second quarter and never looked back. Strong debuts from Sam Bentley and Michael Austin capped off a clinical display for the three-times South West Rugby League Champions.
The day's earlier fixture saw Cornwall's other club Saltash Essayons beat Teignbridge Trojans 52-40 and that means an all-Cornish South West Cup Final on July 28th.
It also guarantees a Cornish entrant into the coveted Harry Jepson Trophy which, played later in the summer season, hands the tournament winner a place in the world-famous Challenge Cup in 2019.
On the back of their 100 per cent start to the season, the Rebels have also announced that they will play Great Britain Teachers RL on Saturday, August 4.
The game, to be played at Camborne RFC, will kick-off at 2:30pm and will be free entry for all spectators to come and see what promises to be an exciting game of rugby.
Away from the pitch, the club has also begun searching for coaches who would be interested in Coaching an under 16s age group, amid plans of a State of Origin style series between East and West Cornwall in summer 2019.
Rebels' development manager Rob Butland said that it's not about finding someone with Rugby League experience, but finding people who are just passionate about giving young athletes a positive rugby experience.
He said: "Our club has always been about being open-minded, and our under 16s programme will be no different.
"Cornwall has some incredibly talented Rugby Coaches, and we are offering some of those coaches the opportunity to try something different over 8 weeks in summer 2019. We are hoping to hear from someone who is passionate and keen to promote an atmosphere where lads can play with a smile on their face, whilst building on their current skillset for a career in either code".
