Cumbrian amateurs Distington threatened an upset against Coventry Bears in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup second round but the League 1 side prevailed in the end 42-12 winners, live on BBC Sport.

Featherstone Lions, who caused the upset of the second round when they knocked out NCL champions Thatto Heath, fell to a 42-0 defeat to League 1 side Oldham.

There were big wins for five time winners Bradford Bulls, who thrashed West Wales Raiders 82-6 with Elliot Minichella bagging five tries, whilst Doncaster beat community side Myton Warriors by the same scoreline, with Jason Tali scoring four times.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Hunslet saw off another community side Oulton Raiders 82-6, whilst Newcastle Thunder recorded their biggest ever win with a 74-0 victory at Hemel Stags.

Three community clubs will be in Tuesday’s fourth round draw, including Normanton Knights, who ended Batley Boys’ impressive run in the competition with an 18-0 win.

Whitehaven-based Kells defeated British Army 30-4, whilst Pilkington Recs, the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition, defeated Millom 32-16.

Also on Saturday, York City Knights beat Askam 64-6, Workington Town defeated Hunslet Club Parkside 24-16 and Whitehaven edged past London Skolars 16-14.
