James Roby was his creative hard-working self as the hooker marked 400 St Helens appearances with 40 tackles, 135 metres and an assist.
Ryan Hall started the 2018 season with 191 metres and two tries as Leeds Rhinos edged out Warrington in the Betfred Super League opener.
The second was reminiscent of old times, as Hall ran the length of the field before edging out fellow England international Stefan Ratchford who himself made 183 metres in attack.

Kallum Watkins led the Rhinos out for the first time as club captain in the victory.
Warrington prop Chris Hill left the game early to be with his wife who went into labour during the opener. Hill had managed 34 tackles and 68 metres before heading to hospital.
George Williams put in a commanding performance as Wigan put 40 points past Salford. Williams was at the heart of the Warriors’ attacking moves, helping youngsters Liam Marshall and Oliver Gildart score two tries each.

Young winger Tom Johnstone featured in Super League for the first time since May 2017 and marked his return in spectacular fashion.
Johnstone scored a hat-trick as Trinity dealt with newly promoted Hull KR. If the young winger can keep up this kind of form, will he find himself featuring against New Zealand in the 2018 International Series?

Newly crowned Hull FC vice-captain Scott Taylor made 108 metres and 37 tackles as Hull FC cruised past Huddersfield Giants on Thursday evening.
