The Huddersfield winger touched down twice, taking his total to 11 tries in 10 international appearances and six in this tournament, and put his centre Kallum Watkins over for two others.
McGillvary opened the scoring after 12 minutes after Gareth Widdop and Watkins combined, and the latter produced a sublime pass for McGillvary's second try seven minutes later. Alex Walmsley then crossed as England took a 14-0 half-time lead.

Widdop kicked ahead for substitute Ben Currie to touch down before PNG got on the board through Castleford Tigers bound Garry Lo.
England produced a strong finish, with McGillvary breaking clear to get Watkins over for his first try and then collecting Luke Gale's high kick to put the Leeds Rhinos centre in for a second.
Hall then put the seal on the win with England's seventh try and Widdop kicked his fourth goal.

England head coach Wayne Bennett believes there is more to come from his side ahead of a semi-final clash with Tonga.
"We wanted to be in Auckland next week and we're there," he said.
"Their training attitude is great, they're committed blokes, they train as good as anybody I've coached. We've just got to get the execution part.

"We're doing a lot of things that will take us in that direction. We're not getting further away from it, we're getting closer to it. We need to put it right in the game."
The performance of McGillvary delighted his coach.
"He's been wonderful, growing in confidence and belief and starting to realise how good he can be," Bennett added.
