The 32-year-old has played 272 games during a career that has also seen him represent Bradford Bulls and Warrington Wolves.
Bridge ended a 10-year stay at the Wolves, whom he helped win the 2009 Challenge Cup, at the end of the 2015 campaign and signed a two-year deal at Widnes.
He also played international rugby league for both Ireland and England.
Bridge, banned for the Vikings' trip to St Helens on Friday, said: "I've struggled with injuries, so my boots are going up at the end of the year.
"All I've ever wanted to do is play rugby, so I'm going to enjoy my last year."
That's always the plan. age catches up with everyone try getting as many games in as I can before the boots go up
