Sherwood lift Division One title

After a tight opening the Wolfhunt crossed first through a barging run from prop Mat Brain, Luke Walters converted from close range.

The Buccaneers hit back through stand-off John Stansfield who converted his own try.

Great hands from Boston saw centre Tom Andrews score after a neat interchange with James Andrews.

However Sherwood finished the half the stronger with tries from Walters and Michael Allen.

Walters added one conversion to make the half time score 16-10 to the Sherwood Wolfhunt.

Boston scored early on the second half through veteran John Stansfield senior, and then Allen scored a neat 60m try to extend the Wolfhunts lead the conversion from Walters made the score 22-14.

Boston would not go away and they turned the game on its head with three quick tries from Cory Stobart, Stansfield junior and winger Jaron Cowern.

Luke Exelby was only able to add one conversion this took the score to 28-22 with 20 minutes to play.

Once more the pendulum swung as the Wolfhunt hit back and hooker Walters crossed for his second try but he miss the conversion.

In the last minute the referee awarded a penalty and Wolfhunt kicked the penalty through Walters to tie the scores and take the game to extra time as the full-time score was 28 all.

In the first minute of extra-time the Wolfhunt broke down and field and were then awarded another penalty.

Walters kicked the match winning penalty to seal the Division One title for Wolf Hunt.
