Defending champions Leeds Rhinos maintained their impressive start to the new Betfred Women's Super League season with a fine 72-0 win over Featherstone Rovers at Belle Vue.

The Rhinos' 14-try show included doubles for Ellie Oldroyd, Hanna Butcher, Fran Goldthorp and Adaoha Akwiwu while Courtney Winfield-Hill converted eight scores.

Orla McCallion opened the scoring inside three minutes and the Rhinos led 42-0 at the interval before maintaining their dominance after the break.

Chloe Kerrigan, Zoe Hornby, Tara Moxon, Caitlin Beevers and Sophie Robinson were the other scorers for the visitors.

St Helens ran in 18 tries in a 90-0 defeat of Huddersfield Giants, with Emily Rudge and Amy Hardcastle helping themselves to four tries each.

Rachael Woosey began the rout with a third minute opener and added a second in the seventh minute before going on to complete her hat-trick in the second half.

Naomi Williams and Danielle Bush both scored a double, with further Saints tries coming from Tara Jones, Paige Travis and Jodie Cunningham, while Faye Gaskin kicked four conversions.

Hollie-Mae Dodd scored a hat-trick as Castleford eased to a 44-0 win over Wakefield.

Dodd began the scoring by going over after five minutes, and Leah Jones extended the Tigers' advantage before two successive handling errors gifted further tries to Eva Izumi and Lucy Eastwood.

Georgia Roche, Shona Hoyle and a late double from Georgie Hetherington added to Dodd's second-half double while Roche also kicked two conversions.

Wigan Warriors built on their opening day win over Warrington with a 38-0 victory over Bradford Bulls, but the result marked an improvement for the visitors, who had been beaten 84-0 by St Helens two weeks ago.
