Try Tag Rugby, the Rugby League game everyone can enjoy, is back – and there’s just about enough time to register for 2021.
Anybody aged 14 or over can play Try Tag Rugby – it’s basically Rugby League minus the physical contact. Tackles are made simply by pulling an opponent’s tag. Players of all abilities and experience are welcome, including absolute beginners.
The Early Summer Leagues kick off from next week and places are filling up fast. Try Tag Rugby Leagues are raring to go across the country – in Bradford, Bristol, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Leeds, London, Manchester, Oxford, Reading, Salford, Sheffield, Wakefield and Wigan.
Most Try Tag Rugby Leagues offer opportunities for mixed gender teams (four males/three females), with Leeds and London also offering women-only leagues, and Bradford, Leeds, London and Reading offering all-male options too.
With many leagues having closing dates for entry this week, any individuals or teams interested in taking part should visit here without delay.
Kyle Nish, Managing Director of Try Tag Rugby, says:
“After missing out last summer due to Covid we are very excited to have our Early Summer Leagues starting next week. The interest since returning has been really positive, with many leagues already full or approaching it.
“We expect to have around 800 teams playing weekly this summer – that’s more than nine and a half thousand people loving their Rugby League.
“It's not too late to get involved though. Anybody looking for a fun and easy way to exercise outside and meet people should come and give Tag a Try!”
Try Tag Rugby is one of the country’s leading social sports organisations, providing high-quality league and events nationwide. Try Tag Rugby, through the RFL, have received full government clearance as a COVID-19 safe, approved team sport.
Anybody wanting to try out before joining a league is welcome to join one of the Free Taster Sessions taking place. All new players are fully briefed before their first game. More information is available here.
