Halifax sign Daniel Murray

Halifax have confirmed the signing of Daniel Murray who joins the Betfred Championship side from Hull Kingston Rovers on a two-year deal

Murray has previously had spells on loan at The Shay Stadium in 2017 and 2018 before featuring in the Betfred Super League with Salford Red Devils and Hull KR.

The 24-year-old is Halifax’s fifth signing ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.

Daniel Murray said: “Buzzing to be part of the club. Having two brief stints at the club in 2017 and 2018, I loved every minute playing and loved what the club is about.

“Grixy [Simon Grix] has and is making some really exciting signings for next year. I’m really looking forward to meeting all the boys and seeing where it takes us for next year.”

Halifax boss Grix added: “I see Dan as a real coup for us. We have had him before on loan where he was impressive on and off the pitch. He is maturing as a player and a person bringing Super League experience and high standards.

“He is a hard-working player who will provide some punch for us in the middle of the field. We look forward to him joining us.”

Halifax’s Football Director Ian Croad said: “Dan brings more than just size, he’s a skilful player who will add steel and guile to the pack. He impressed whilst on loan and we now welcome him to the Fax family.”
