Thank you for being part of the Rugby League World Cup and what an amazing tournament it was. Our England Wheelchair team were crowned World Champions on a history-making evening, our Women fell valiantly at the Semi-Final stage against New Zealand while our Men were agonisingly pipped in Golden Point against Samoa at the Emirates Stadium.
We hope you’ve enjoyed experiencing Rugby League, whether you’re an existing fan or if it’s the first time you’ve interacted with our great sport. Challenge Cup Finals, Sat 12 Aug, Wembley Stadium (London)
Rugby League’s traditional showpiece event, held annually since 1896, with clubs from across the professional and community game taking part in a thrilling knock-out cup competition. For 2023 Wembley will see both the Men’s and Women’s Cup Finals taking place together for the very first time. Cup Finals Day is Rugby League’s day out at Wembley as fans from teams across the whole game come together to celebrate in the capital.
Super League Grand Final, Sat 14 Oct, Old Trafford (Manchester)
The Super League Grand Final is the championship-deciding game of Rugby League's top-tier men’s competition, the Betfred Super League. Alongside the Challenge Cup Final, the biggest event in the 2023 calendar, and the jewel in the crown for Super League teams. Always hotly contested and with a phenomenal atmosphere, the Grand Final is always an unforgettable night under the lights of Old Trafford.
Magic Weekend, Sat 3 and Sun 4 June, St James’ Park (Newcastle)
Magic Weekend sees an entire round of men’s Super League fixtures played over one weekend in one stadium. It is a true celebration of our sport as fans from all 12 Super League teams come together in Newcastle for six fixtures across the two days and to bring a party atmosphere like no other. And if you’re looking to pick a Super League team to support, then you can watch them all in one weekend to decide!

Betfred Super League, Championship, League One & Challenge Cup
There are three tiers in men’s Rugby League, the top tier called the Betfred Super League, the second tier Championship and third tier League One. League fixtures for the 2023 season begin in February. Super League matches are broadcast live on Sky Sports and Channel 4, with Monday night Championship matches on Premier Sports.
All men’s professional teams and community RL clubs compete in the Challenge Cup, Rugby League’s knock-out cup competition that has been held annually since 1896. Challenge Cup fixtures also begin in February, with the Cup Final to be played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 August 2023. Challenge Cup matches are broadcast live on BBC Sport.

The Women’s Super League 2023 season begins in April 2023. Teams also compete in the Women’s Challenge Cup with fixtures also starting in April and the Women’s Final due to be played alongside the Men’s Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 August 2023. A select number of Women’s Super League fixtures are broadcast live on Sky Sports, with Women’s Challenge Cup fixtures on BBC Sport.
