England v Tonga
A huge three-game Test Series...
The Tongans are coming!
England will face Tonga in a three-test series this Autumn – the first ever international series between the two nations and the first time they have met since 2017’s memorable Rugby League World Cup Semi-Final in Auckland which England closed out in slim fashion, 20-18.
Tickets are on sale now for the series with matches at St Helens (Totally Wicked Stadium, Sun 22 Oct), Huddersfield (John Smith’s Stadium, Sat 28) and Leeds (Headingley Stadium, Sat 4 Nov), with kick-offs for all three matches at 2.30pm.
With three-time Super League winning coach Kristian Woolf at the helm and outstanding players of the likes of NRL forward Jason Taumalolo, Tonga will bring incredible passion and scintillating skills which they showed at RLWC2021 when they captivated crowds with their pre-match Sipi Tau war dance and brilliant on-field performances, only narrowly missing out on a Semi Final place to Samoa.
The stage is set for a thrilling test series for Shaun Wane’s England and the chance for them to show their mettle against one of the very best sides in international Rugby League.
The third Tonga test at Headingley Stadium will also see England Women take on Wales (kick-off 12pm). England Women played two matches at Headingley during last November's World Cup, attracting record crowds for their opening fixture against Brazil and their Quarter-Final victory over Papua New Guinea. Wales Women have made rapid strides over the last two years with the squad largely built around players from the Cardiff Demons team, who reached the quarter finals of the Women’s Challenge Cup in their first year in the competition.
Tickets are priced from only £25 Adults and £12.50 Under 16s, with a three-match bundle also available from £52.50 Adults and £26.25 Under 16s. If you’re looking to book 10 tickets or more, you can SAVE 30% on single matches with prices from £17.50 for Adults and £8.75 for under 16s – available now via the Groups Sales team at groups@rlcommercial.co.uk or 0844 856 1115.
