Universities Rugby League volunteer programme

Digital communication and PR executive, Universities Rugby League (regional positions available)

Universities Rugby League is undergoing a transformation as we build towards to Student World Cup in 2021, with a range of appointments being made to support the game in the following regions.

  • North East
  • North West
  • Yorkshire
  • Midlands
  • South East
  • South West/Wales

We are now looking to recruit ambitious, talented year two and three students to raise awareness of the game – previews, reviews, players, personalities – in the above regions.

Volunteers will undertake a range of media work, including the production of digital content, liaising with universities and colleges, and building a network of reliable regional contacts.

This is your opportunity to:

  • gain valuable sporting sector experience working with a highly regarded national governing body;
  • develop your skills and gain experience in sports media and PR;
  • build your CV and improve your employability after university or college;
  • develop your own network of contacts within the sport;
  • receive regular support and mentoring from the RFL; and
  • become involved in major regional and national RFL events.

Placements will run from November 2019 to July 2020, with the possibility of continuing into the 2020/21 academic year.

The RFL understand the constraints of students and while this position will take a level of commitment, we are considerate of busy periods in a student’s life and this will be factored into any work.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until Wednesday 6 November, 12noon
