Warrington Wolves have named Jack Hughes as captain ahead of the 2021 Betfred Super League season.
Hughes – who was co-captain alongside Chris Hill last season – joined Warrington in 2016 and has gone on to make almost 150 appearances for the club helping them lift the League Leaders’ Shield in his first season and, more recently, the Betfred Challenge Cup in 2019.
On the appointment, Hughes said: “It’s a massive honour and something I’m really proud of.
“Obviously, I understand the weight and responsibility that comes with the role and it’s something I’ll take extremely seriously.
“I’ll uphold the highest of standards at all times – any leadership role would require that – but I’m extremely proud.”
Chris Hill will step down from captaincy duties after five seasons allowing him to focus on his own performances whilst remaining committed to supporting Jack in his role going forward.
