Rugby League returns to the screen on Saturday 13 March, with live coverage of St Helens versus Leigh Centurions – a testimonial game for the Saints and England winger Tommy Makinson.
The reigning Betfred Super League champions host the competition newcomers at the Totally Wicked Stadium in a match that can be seen live via the RFL’s Our League platform from 6pm.
Makinson has been awarded a testimonial by the RFL this year, following more than 240 appearances for St Helens since 2011 and four for England in 2018, which earned him Rugby League’s international Golden Boot award. With 142 tries for club and country, Makinson is known as one of the most lethal finishers in the game.
Mark Foster, the RFL’s Chief Commercial Officer, says: “This will be another first for Our League since its launch – and it’s great to be able to help Tommy Makinson as he starts his testimonial year in a fixture which will be played behind closed doors for obvious reasons. After a tough winter, we’re all keen to see some Rugby League – and nowhere more than Leigh, as they prepare to return to the Betfred Super League in 2021.”
Our League is available online via the RFL website and can be download via the App Store or Google Play. The game will be streamed live on all Our League platforms at a cost of £5, with proceeds going to Tommy Makinson’s testimonial fund. The prices will increase to £6.99 on the day of the game, so fans are advised to purchase now here.
All versions of Our League offer a casting facility.
