Leigh Centurions add Adam Sidlow

Leigh Centurions have announced the signing of Adam Sidlow ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.

Sidlow will be the fourth former Wolfpack player to join the Centurions in the off-season after the acquisition of Matty Russell, Joe Mellor and Blake Wallace.

The 33-year-old was one of Toronto’s first signings back in 2017 after successful spells with Salford Red Devils and Bradford Bulls.

Sidlow said: “John Duffy is assembling a great squad full of Super League quality and I’m looking forward to chipping in and doing what I can to help the Club achieve its goals.

“It’s been a tough year, especially going without pay for several months at Toronto but now it’s good to have something to look forward to and be positive about. John Duffy’s teams have always impressed me with the way they play and I’m looking forward to playing for him.

“People tell me he’s a no-nonsense coach and I respect that. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season and training and working with him. My best mate is Mike Morrison who used to play for Leigh, and he couldn’t speak highly enough about John Duffy and the Club.”

Leigh Centurions Head Coach, John Duffy, added: “Adam is a consistent performer who has always impressed me throughout his career. Not many front-rowers can play big minutes like Adam and he’s going to fit right in at Leigh Centurions.

“He’s based locally and knows a lot of our players already and after a bad year with Toronto he’s looking forward to playing again and is excited by the challenge.”

Sidlow is Leigh’s 10th new addition ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season following the signings of Joe Mellor, Craig Mullen, Nathaniel Peteru, Matty Russell, Ryan Brierley, Jamie Ellis, Blake Wallace and Matty Gee.
