Jordan Turner granted Testimonial Year

Huddersfield Giants’ Jordan Turner has been granted a testimonial year in 2021.

Turner’s career began with Salford Red Devils back in 2007 before the Oldham-born centre spent three seasons with Hull FC and four years with St Helens. The 31-year-old joined Huddersfield in 2017 from NRL side Canberra Raiders and has made 59 appearances for the Giants.

Turner said: “It means a lot to me really.

“I’ve not spent ten years at one club, but I’d like to think I’ve given a lot of service to the game. I debuted at 17 and I’m 31 now, to be granted one is a massive honour and to have a bit of recognition for my services is something I’m proud of.

“To have a match dedicated to my career is a real honour.

“I’ll be doing the majority of the regular things, an opening dinner, and a couple of fan forums. I’m hoping to have some social media raffles and loads of different things.”

Turner’s testimonial will coincide with the 2021 Rugby League World Cup and he could feature for Jamaica as they make their much-anticipated debut at the Rugby League World Cup.

Jamaica will open their Rugby League World Cup campaign against Ireland at Emerald Headingley Stadium on Sunday 24th October 2021 before group games against New Zealand in Leeds and Lebanon at Leigh Sports Village.
