Rugby League is joining other sports in paying tribute to the NHS when the organisation marks its 72nd anniversary this weekend.
The weekly minute’s applause that became a feature of Thursday nights early in the Covid-19 Lockdown has been revived for Sunday afternoon at 5pm.
And Craig Richards, the Head Coach of England Women, is urging Rugby League supporters and players to join their counterparts in other sports show their support.
“It’s a great opportunity to say another big thank you to the amazing work that’s been done by everyone in the NHS, and all other key workers, to help our country through such a difficult time,” he said.
“We’re proud of the part Rugby League people have played in helping our communities through these difficult times – and that includes quite a few of our brilliant women’s players who work in the NHS and in care homes. Thank you to them all.”
