Sam Scott confident of York's quality

York City Knights entered 2019 as a newly-promoted side in the Betfred Championship and nine months later they are now just three wins away from earning consecutive promotions and reaching the promise land of Super League.

They host Featherstone Rovers on Saturday afternoon knowing that nothing less than a win will do and forward Sam Scott is aware of the Rovers’ quality.

“They’re physical in the middle and they’ve got some good half-backs so it’s going to be a challenge but we’re confident.

“We’ve proven over the course of the season that if we’re good we’re hard to beat.

“I’m not sure we were expecting to do so well this season, but I certainly know James Ford did. I thought he was mad in pre-season when he was talking about targeting these play-offs.

“We’ve grown together as a team and gone from strength to strength. There’s no magic formula behind it, we just work hard and put good game plans and structures in place and when we follow it, we aren’t far away.”

The game will be live on Sky Sports Arena from 3pm tomorrow (Saturday 20 September) afternoon.
