Sheffield Eagles pulled off a splendid second half turnaround to defeat Barrow Raiders in the opening game of Day Two at the Summer Bash.
Barrow opened the scoring as Jarrad Stack managed to claim Jamie Dallimore’s kick and plant the ball down. However, midway through the first half, Sheffield drew level as Joel Farrell went through a gap on the back of Anthony Thackeray’s short pass.

The Raiders did go into the break ahead thanks to a Dallimore penalty goal two minutes before the half-time hooter.
Sheffield went ahead for the first time in the game on 48 minutes as Farrell scored his second of the afternoon and Mark Aston’s men never looked back.
Three tries inside eight minutes would put the Eagles in control. Ben Blackmore scored following a great pass from Josh Guzdek before Thackeray dummied and sliced his way through the Barrow defence. Thackeray would cross again four minutes later to open up a 22-point lead.
The halfback would soon find himself in the sin-bin for dissent. Barrow took advantage when Theerapol Ritson and Jonathan Smith scored, but it wouldn’t prevent Sheffield getting the victory.
