Telford Raiders hail the impact of Touch on whole club

Telford Raiders hail the impact of Touch on whole club

The club became a licensee back in 2014 and enjoyed their best ever year in 2017, gaining new members not only to the touch sessions but players & volunteers to the club in what was a very challenging financial year.

In 2018 the club are once again grateful to the Wrekin Housing Trust for their continued sponsorship of the Touch RL section.

The Club hosted their first-ever Touch festival with local teams, with our Birmingham Touch licensee also bringing along a team from their site for their very first competition.

Licensee Fred Baker said: "last year's festival was a great experience for the club to meet new players from other sites/clubs and give our match officials a new experience.

"We hope to build on this for 2018 and are looking at a team to enter into the RFL’s Coast To Coast series."

Telford Raiders have started their 2018 sessions earlier than usual but have again seen an increase in numbers which includes new players to the club.

Any new players aged over 14, any gender and all abilities will be welcomed to the social, fun-focused 'pay and play' sessions.
