Featherstone leave it late to beat 12-man Whitehaven
Three tries in the last 12 minutes earned Featherstone Rovers a 30-18 win against 12-man Whitehaven in the Kingstone Press Championship at Big Fellas Stadium.
Despite having Dave Allen sent off for dissent in the 19th minute and being disrupted by injuries, Whitehaven were in with a chance of repeating last year\'s shock league victory at Featherstone when they were only 14-12 behind in the closing stages.
Jack Ormondroyd, Darrell Griffin and Jamie Foster sealed Rovers\' win when they added to first-half tries from half-backs Kyle Briggs and Jordan Lilley, who was playing on dual registration from Leeds, while Foster kicked five goals.
Anthony Walker, playing on loan from Wakefield, Jordan Burns and Jessie Joe Parker scored tries for the Cumbrians.
