Wakefield Trinity and Featherstone Rovers joined Toronto Wolfpack in Round Six of the Coral Challenge Cup on Friday evening.
Trinity earned a hard-fought victory over Bradford Bulls with a 70th minute Reece Lyne try proving the difference between the sides at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.
Jordan Lilley had opened the scoring for Bradford but Joe Westerman’s effort levelled the scores before a Jacob Miller drop-goal on the half-time hooter ensured Wakefield went into the break with the narrowest of leads.
Rowan Milnes would latch onto his own kick to restore Bradford’s lead, but an Alex Walker try, and Danny Brough conversion brought the hosts back within one point. Jay Pitts played a pivotal role in Lyne’s winning try ten minutes from time.
Featherstone earned a dominant 46-6 win over League 1 outfit Hunslet at the Millenium Stadium.
Jake Sweeting, Dane Chisholm and Ben Blackmore all notched doubles while Sam Ottewell, Josh Hardcastle and Connor Carey were also on the scoresheet. Danny Rowse crossed for Hunslet’s solitary try.
