Robbie Hunter-Paul became the first player to ever score a hat-trick in a Coral Challenge Cup Final back in 1996 and he has his eyes on Saints’ talisman Tommy Makinson to set Wembley alight this weekend.
Makinson has played in Super League Grand Finals, a World Club Challenge and on the international stage with England but he will make his Wembley debut on Saturday as St Helens face Warrington in the Coral Challenge Cup Final.
Hunter-Paul said: “He’s had a couple of breakthrough seasons over the last few years he absolutely exploded on the international scene winning the coveted Golden Boot award in 2018.
“I just feel that the big stage down at Wembley Stadium is made for him. Everybody loves to see his ‘Superman’ efforts in the corners.
“St Helens have a tonne of talent, but Tommy Makinson puts the icing on the cake. It’s not only his try-scoring ability but also those big barnstorming runs that he makes in the middle of the park just to chew up metres and bruise the opposition.”
