Doncaster host successful Junior Takeover Day

More of Rugby League’s Betfred Championship and League One clubs are set to hand over the reins to the younger generation this month following on from Doncaster’s highly successful Junior Takeover day last month.

The Dons’ 7 June game with Oldham saw children from Club Doncaster Foundation’s partner schools take control of some of the jobs required on a matchday. Thirteen children took the reins of some of the most exciting roles at the Keepmoat Stadium, including head coach, player, referee, media manager and stadium announcer.

Oldham themselves are one of a number of clubs set to follow suit. Supporters at this Sunday’s (14 July) match against North Wales Crusaders at the Vestcare Stadium can expect to hear young people announcing the line-ups, whilst behind the scenes they’ll be looking after journalists, hosting hospitality suites and sorting the kit.

Also confirming their involvement Junior Takeovers during the next fortnight are Barrow Border Raiders, Newcastle Thunder and York City Knights, who entertain Leigh, London Skolars and Bradford respectively.
