Hull Kingston Rovers vs Leigh Centurions | Thursday | 7:30pm

The Coral Challenge Cup 5th Round gets underway on Thursday evening and there is a mouth-watering tie between Hull Kingston Rovers and Leigh Centurions to kick us off.

Betfred Championship side Leigh have had success against Betfred Super League sides in recent seasons overcoming Salford Red Devils on two occasions in 2015 and 2018 however the Robins did beat Leigh in the 5th Round in 2017, 10-23 at the Leigh Sports Village.

Hull Kingston Rovers managed to progress all the way to Wembley back in 2015 but have since been halted in the 5th and 6th Round, respectively.

Will Leigh make the 6th Round or will it be Hull KR who progress?

Halifax RLFC v London Broncos | Thursday | 7:30pm

The second of the fixtures on Thursday evening sees Halifax welcome the visit of Super League’s newest side London Broncos.

London haven’t had much luck in the Challenge Cup in recent seasons failing to reach the Round 5 in each of the last of the last five seasons. Halifax progressed to Round 6 as recently as 2017 when they overcame Whitehaven.

The sides did meet on three occasions in the 2018 Betfred Championship and while London did win two of the three meetings, it was Halifax who were 26-16 victors at the MBi Shay.

Can Halifax repeat last year’s victory and knock off Super League opposition?

Leeds Rhinos vs Workington Town | Friday | 7:45pm

Leeds Rhinos are one of four Betfred Super League sides entering the competition in Round 5 and they will host Betfred League One promotion hopefuls Workington Town on Friday evening.

Workington – who currently sit 5th in Betfred League One – are featuring in Round Five of the competition for the first time since 2013. Town travelled to the Emerald Headingley Stadium back in 2007’s competition suffering a 10-72 defeat.

Will Workington pull off a huge upset and topple Leeds?
