RFL Board Decision: Huddersfield Giants

The RFL Board has approved Huddersfield Giants’ request to relocate to Dewsbury Rams’ FLAIR Stadium from the start of the 2027 season.

The decision follows the Giants’ announcement of a projected investment of more than £10 million to develop the stadium, including the construction of a new East stand that would increase capacity from 5,000 to around 8,000 spectators, due to be finished in 2027.

Rhodri Jones, RFL interim CEO, said: “Following consultation with both Super League and Championship clubs, the RFL Board has approved Huddersfield Giants’ request to relocate to Dewsbury Rams’ FLAIR Stadium from the start of the 2027 season.

“The Board has considered the request carefully, including its alignment with the relevant provisions of the rulebook and the potential implications for future grading scores.

“We recognise the significance of this proposed investment and the opportunity it presents to support the club’s long-term plans, while ensuring the process remains consistent, transparent and fair to all clubs.”
