Rugby League’s Grand Day Out Returns to Blackpool

Rugby League’s Grand Day Out Returns to Blackpool

The RFL is pleased to announce that Rugby League’s Grand Day Out will return to Blackpool on Saturday 8 August 2026, bringing one of the sport’s biggest inclusion festivals back to Common Edge Community Sports Village.

The event will bring together 27 Learning Disability teams, eight Physical Disability Rugby League teams, Tryz programme activity and around 500 participants with physical and learning disabilities, all at one venue!

Participation in Disability Rugby League has continued to thrive from 2025 into 2026, with the RFL seeing record levels of involvement across all variants.

Grand Day Out shines a spotlight on inclusion across the sport and gives players of all abilities the chance to take centre stage.

This year’s event is set to be especially anticipated after the 2025 Grand Day Out was cancelled because of a forecast of severe weather. Its return this summer will mark an exciting, fun-filled day of Rugby League activity for players, families, clubs, and communities.
