England DiSE Women prepare for second test this evening

The England Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) Women’s U18s team will face France U20s tonight (Saturday 4 July) in their second and final fixture of the tour.

The DiSE Women faced Catalans Dragons Women on Wednesday evening, impressing with a 36-16 victory and will be looking to make it two wins from two this weekend.

Rugby Football League DiSE Manager, Conor Meese, said:

“Today will be a first for the programme, competing against an age grade French team for the very first time.

“So far, the players have experienced not only what it is like to compete abroad, but also how to recover, reset and refocus for a second fixture with a short turn around, replicating what they could face should they progress within the pathway.

“The squad have behaved impeccably since they arrived at the airport on Tuesday and their togetherness has ensured a happy camp environment throughout the week.

“All the staff are looking forward and excited to see how they perform against France, showcasing all the skills they have developed over the course of the programme.

“The players are a credit to the clubs who have developed them extremely well as rugby players and as people. I hope their final pathway experience ends with a positive result and is used to carry on their progression back in England at their clubs.”
