Over 110k Tickets Sold for ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes Series

Over 110k Tickets Sold for ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes Series

With less than 50 days to go until the first Rugby League Ashes Test for 22 years, Rugby League Commercial is delighted to confirm that ticket sales for the ABK Beer Ashes Series have passed 110,000.

A small number of extra tickets for the Second Test at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium were released earlier this month following Everton’s successful Premier League debut at the stadium – and snapped up within an hour when made available to supporters who had registered for tickets when they went on sale in the spring, but who had initially missed out.

That will lift the capacity for the Second Test of the ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes above 51,000, and after the Third Test at AMT Headingley also sold out rapidly in April, it means the only tickets available for the series are for the First Test at Wembley Stadium on Saturday October 25.

Seats in the Upper Tier were made available in July with prices starting at £20 for adults, and £10 for juniors, and overall sales have now passed the 40,489 attendance for the last Rugby League international in London, the 2022 World Cup Semi Final between England and Samoa at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Joe Steel, RL Commercial’s Director of Marketing and Communications, said:

“As we approach the business end of the season in the Betfred Super League and the NRL, the clock is also ticking down to the return of the Rugby League Ashes.

“We’re in a strong position with seven weeks to go until the First Test at Wembley Stadium on October 25 – and with availability now very limited in the lower bowl, we urge England and Australia supporters to move quickly and secure their seats.

“It’s going to be a magnificent sporting occasion, bringing back memories of the Ashes Tests at Wembley in 1990 and 1994, as well as World Cup fixtures in 1992, 1995 and 2013.”

Rivalries will be reignited when England take on Australia in the ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes this autumn. The two nations will meet in a three-match test series over 20 years in the making and with the second and third test completely SOLD OUT; Wembley Stadium on Saturday 25 October is your only place to watch this fierce rivalry live!
