Physical Disability Rugby League welcomes the Historic Lancashire vs Yorkshire Series in 2025 through proud partners Medequip and the introduction of the Medequip Cup.
Momentum is building for an exciting new PDRL Rugby League series as teams from Lancashire and Yorkshire prepare to face off in a three-round State of Origin-style clash; the first of its kind in the physical disability Rugby League variant.
The ground-breaking series kicks off with Round 1 on Sunday 10th August at Warrington’s Victoria Park for the opening game.
The second game of the inaugural Medequip cup will be held on September 11th at Headingley Stadium, with a 6.00pm kick off, prior to the Leeds Rhinos Vs Catalans Dragons match.
The Medequip Cup stands as a great development tool for the PDRL variant of the game and as an attractive playing offer where all participants will be fully classified to compete.
Chris Godfrey National Inclusion Manager said “It’s great to introduce the Medequip Cup tournament to Physical Disability Rugby League. There is tremendous talent throughout the entire PDRL space and to provide a prestigious tournament such as an origin Lancashire vs Yorkshire clash will undoubtedly put a spotlight on its high-standards and inclusive nature.”
Nicholas Kennedy Castleford Tigers, Lancashire and England Community Lions PDRL player said “There’s nothing like this available in the disability landscape of contact sport. This series symbolizes the growth of the sport. It's awesome.”
