Community Rugby League heroes to be recognised in the 2025 Community Volunteer Awards

The Rugby Football League is set to honour the outstanding contributions of eight Community Rugby League heroes in the 2025 Community Volunteer Awards.

Nominations will be open from August 4th to August 29th, offering a chance to celebrate the dedication of volunteers who make a difference in the Rugby League community.

The award categories for 2025 are:

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Junior Coach of the Year
  • Grounds Person of the Year
  • Women and Girls Champion
  • Social RL Volunteer of the Year
  • Our League Life Award
  • Tackle It Award

The Our League Life Award recognises an individual or group of volunteers who have led a community-focused initiative that has made a positive social impact on their community.

The Tackle It Award recognises a volunteer who has made a significant contribution to either Wheelchair, Physical Disability, or Learning Disability Rugby League.

The criteria for all awards can be viewed here.

All winners will be presented with their awards at club events, which will include an invite to the Betfred Super League Grand Final 2025 at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Nominated volunteers must be registered on Gameday for the 2025 season to be eligible and coaches must be RFL qualified to be considered.

RFL Director of Development, Marc Lovering, said: “I’m overjoyed that we can confirm the return of the Community Volunteer Awards. It’s so important that we thank and recognise our volunteers for their incredible service. Volunteers are a crucial part of the Rugby League family; they help us drive the game forward in means and ways that go beyond the 80 minutes on field.

“With eight categories up for grabs I would highly encourage people to get involved and send in their nominations for who they believe is their volunteer of the year.”

All Community Clubs and registered volunteers will be sent a nomination form when voting opens.
