Sirius Academy West and Rainford High School heading for Wembley in inspiresport RFL Champion Schools

The first two teams who will be at Wembley Stadium for Challenge Cup Finals Day on Saturday June 7 have been confirmed.
The Steven Mullaney Memorial Match which will kick off the day – the Year Seven Boys’ Final of the RFL’s inspiresport Champion Schools – will feature youngsters from Hull and St Helens, following victories for Sirius Academy West and Rainford High School in this week’s semi finals.
Sirius Academy West secured a thrilling 30-24 win against St Peter’s Catholic High School of Wigan, the 2024 winners.
Rainford HS had a more convincing 32-0 victory against Brooksbank School (Elland).

Rainford’s win sets up the possibility of a double Wembley date for Emily Rudge, the former England captain, who is a PE teacher at the school.
Rudge is aiming to secure her third consecutive Wembley appearance with St Helens, who face York Valkyrie in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Semi Finals next Sunday (May 11).
Saturday 7 June is Betfred Challenge Cup Finals Day 2025 – also including the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final, AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final, and RFL Champion Schools Year 7 Boys Final. Tickets are on sale now!
