Betfred Women's Challenge Cup Semi-Finals confirmed

York Valkyrie will return to the scene of their 2024 Betfred Women’s Super League triumph in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Semi Finals next month, hoping to stun St Helens on their home territory again.

Lindsay Anfield’s team clinched their first BWSL title with an 18-8 win against the Saints at the Totally Wicked Stadium last October, and both York and Saints knew before this weekend’s Quarter Finals that they would meet at the same venue if they progressed – on Sunday May 11, before the men’s Betfred Challenge Cup Semi Final between Warrington Wolves and Leigh Leopards.

Saints, who have held the Challenge Cup since 2021 with the last two of their four consecutive Final wins coming at Wembley, were the first team to book their place in the last four with a 78-0 demolition of London Broncos on Saturday.

York followed them into the last four, and set up the Grand Final rematch, by beating Leigh Leopards 52-0 in one of three Quarter Finals on Sunday.

Leeds Rhinos, aiming for a third consecutive Final appearance at Wembley, will face Wigan Warriors in the first Semi Final at York’s LNER Community Stadium on Saturday May 10 – before the first men’s Semi Final between Hull KR and Catalans Dragons.

Leeds overcame determined resistance from the Huddersfield Giants to secure a 38-18 win at AMT Headingley, while Wigan reinforced their credentials to challenge for honours this season with a 96-0 romp against Cardiff Demons.

Each of the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Semi Finalists have been allocated tickets which will go on sale early this week.
