England Rugby League (ERL) today (Saturday 7 September) reveals a distinctive new playing kit which will be worn by the Men, Women and Wheelchair teams in both 2024 and 2025.
Designed in partnership with official England kit provider OXEN, the kit will be worn for the first time this Autumn when all three squads are in action as part of the ABK Beer International Test Series, before England Men and Women play Ashes series against Australia in 2025 – including a Women’s international against the Jillaroos in Las Vegas in March.
England Wheelchair kick off the ABK Beer International programme when they host their oldest and fiercest rivals France at the Robin Park Arena, Wigan, on Saturday October 26 (KO 2.30pm). England Men will then take on Samoa in the first of their two-match series at The Brick Community Stadium, also in Wigan, the next day (KO 2.30pm).
The following weekend, England Women will play Wales at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium on Saturday November 2 (KO 12noon) – in a double header with the second England v Samoa match (KO 2.30pm).
Today’s launch will also see the release of a limited-edition Community Training Shirt which will be given away for free on a first come first serve basis when purchasing the 2024/25 kit. The one-of-a-kind piece features the names of all Community Clubs in England across the shirt.
Lee Jenkinson, OXEN CEO, said:
“We are delighted with the new look for the England Rugby League Men, Women and Wheelchair teams for 2024/25. Having worked closely with RL Commercial and assessing feedback from fans, the decision was made to create a shirt that could span across this year’s Autumn internationals and the Ashes Tours against Australia in 2025.
“Feedback from fans was also a key aspect for the design and colours of this shirt. We are immensely proud at Oxen as a UK brand supporting our elite athletes at international level and believe the blend of colours and the design, leads to a very strong look for England in what is sure to be an exciting calendar over the next 18 months. We look forward to seeing the shirt proudly on display in the UK, USA and Australia!”
RL Commercial Managing Director, Rhodri Jones, added: “The next 18 months are going to be an exciting time for international Rugby League, beginning in just over seven weeks’ time when our Wheelchair team face France before the visit of Samoa. It promises to be an intense series with England Men hoping to avenge the bitter disappointment of their World Cup Semi Final defeat in November 2022.
“We can’t wait to see the thousands of passionate England fans in the stands wearing the new shirt both this year and next, especially as we have the Ashes Tours against Australia in 2025, which of course begins with a historic fixture in Las Vegas for England Women against the Jillaroos.”
The new England RL shirt can be purchased now from Oxen’s Elite Pro Sports online store, with prices ranging from £34.99 (toddlers) to £54.99 (Adults up to 6XL).
The shirt is also available from 10am today (Saturday 7th September) at Oxen’s flagship store at Junction 32, Tomahawk Trail, Castleford WF10 4FR.
Tickets are now on sale for the ABK Beer Men’s and Women’s matches, with tickets available for just £12.50 (juniors) and £25 (adults). Tickets for the Wheelchair international are available here.
All four internationals will be shown live by BBC Sport.
