Rugby League's Annual Shirt Day returns with RL Cares as chosen charity
Rugby League’s Annual Shirt Day is back! Supported by the Rugby Football League, money raised this year will go to Rugby League Cares, one of the RFL’s long-standing partners, and will be held on Friday 20 September 2024.
Fans, players and celebrities alike will be able to show off their shirts via various Social Media platforms leading up to the day, nominating others to do the same while at the same time raising money for this fantastic Rugby League charity.
The day itself will see Rugby League fans around the world proudly wearing their shirt, showing support for the charity and the game alike.

Rugby League's Shirt Day is the brainchild of Rugby League mad friends Bryan Cowin and Andy Lee. Both appear on Andy’s popular weekly ‘Only in Rugby League Podcast’ (@onlyinRL), which launched the Annual Shirt Day on Monday 1 July in line with Bryan’s Twitter account @Six_Again.
Bryan Cowin explained:
“The day is the third of our now annual event, showcasing the popularity of Rugby League. Everyone within the game is aware of the fantastic work Rugby League Cares does and we envisage the visual effect of shirts from all over the world will help raise awareness for the amazing charity.
“This is your chance to get your shirt involved, new or old, while raising money and supporting our cause.”
