Frayssinous names France squad to play England in Toulouse on Saturday

France head coach Laurent Frayssinous has named his squad for the international against England in Toulouse on Saturday, when the French Rugby League (FFR XIII) will celebrate 90 years of the game in the republic.

14 of the 22 players named are from Betfred Super League side Catalans Dragons, including utility back Arthur Romano who could well miss the game through suspension. Linking up with the Catalans contingent are a number of former Dragons, including Toulouse Olympique’s Lambert Belmas who is in line to play on home turf at Stade Ernest-Wallon.

And there’s an early birthday present for London Broncos’ Hakim Miloudi, who turns 31 on Wednesday. Miloudi has been one of the stand-out performers in a difficult season for the Broncos on their return to the Betfred Super League. His Broncos teammate Ugo Tison – another former Catalans Dragons player – is also included. The 22-years old utility player made his international debut in last year’s mid-season international between France and England at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Laurent Frayssinous said: "This group is the best that France has known for quite some time and it comes perfectly to celebrate the 90th anniversary of French 13-a-side rugby. I know that the players are keen to give everything and to do France Rugby League proud. We have a huge desire to fly the colours of our country and our sport."

Both France’s Men and Women play England on Saturday – and both matches will be streamed live from Stade Ernest-Wallon on SuperLeague+, Rugby League’s global, direct-to-consumer streaming service. Kick off times are 2.30pm BST (England Women) and 5pm (BST) England Men.

SuperLeague+ is available online at superleague.co.uk/superleagueplus, via the SuperLeague+ app on iOS and Android devices, and on connected TV platforms (Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV).
