Dragons and Warriors through to the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final

Dragons and Warriors through to the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final

Wigan Warriors will face Catalans Dragons in the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final in Sheffield on Saturday June 1 – meaning the Warriors will play in at least two Challenge Cup Finals next month.

Emulating the success of Matt Peet’s team in the men’s Betfred Challenge Cup Semi Final in Doncaster, the Warriors’ Wheelchair team earned a 48-30 win against Leeds Rhinos.

Meanwhile Catalans Dragons underlined their determination to retain the trophy they won for the first time last year with a 74-12 win against London Roosters in Medway.

The 2024 Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final will take place at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield, on Saturday 1 June (KO 2.30pm) and will also be shown live on BBC Sport. Tickets, priced just £11, are on sale online now.

Wigan’s Women’s team will attempt to complete a hat-trick of Challenge Cup Final appearances for the club when they also face Leeds Rhinos in the second women’s semi-final at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens on Sunday.

The winners of that game will face the Saints Women, who reached their fourth consecutive Challenge Cup Final with a 32-2 win against York Valkyrie in the first match of the double-header in Doncaster.
