Betfred Championship Round-Up | Round Six

Widnes Vikings pushed Toulouse close in the opening game of Round Six. The Vikings struck first through Ryan Ince, before the visitors hit back. The Vikings responded to regain the advantage.

With just three minutes, Paul Marcon crossed as the French side snatched the two points during the 14-12 contest.

London Broncos made the long trip up to the North East a successful one, with an away victory at Newcastle Thunder.

The Broncos scored four first half tries, which put themselves into a strong position at half-time.

Jack Miller scored a try 15 minutes into the second half, however, an Alex Walker double in the final ten minutes saw London leave with a 36-6 victory.

Bradford Bulls moved up to fourth after a home success over third placed, Sheffield Eagles.

The Bulls made an electric start with Joe Arundel going over for the opening score of the contest, inside the first 60 seconds.

Mark Dunning’s side asserted their dominance with two more tries, which saw them race into a 20-0 lead after just 16 minutes.

Two Eagles’ tries saw the visitors fight back, but Liam Tindall stopped the momentum as Bradford took a 24-12 lead at half-time.

Both sides added a second half try, as Bradford defeated Sheffield 32-18.

Lachlan Walmsley continued his try scoring form as he crossed for a brace. 

The Panthers had a 28-4 lead at the break, before the fought a close second half with the Panthers securing a 34-10 win.

Featherstone continued their unbeaten record in the Betfred Championship. Rovers scored seven tries, which included two tries from Kyle Evans.

Swinton trailed by 10 points at half-time, but they were unable to fightback and Featherstone went on to win 34-6.

Whitehaven produced a strong away performance to defeat York Knights at the LNER Community Stadium. 

Daniel Spencer-Tonks scored a double, as Whitehaven edged out York 14-12.

On Monday evening, Batley Bulldogs beat Barrow Raiders live on Viaplay Sports.

The Bulldogs scored four tries during the 24-12 victory in West Yorkshire.
