Betfred Women's Super League Round-Up | September 12

Warrington Wolves are just 80 minutes away from promotion to the Betfred Women's Super League elite after crushing Bradford Bulls 72-0 in the Group 2 play-off semi-finals.

Georgia Sutherland led the way with seven tries in their Group 2 semi-final, setting up a meeting with Featherstone Rovers whose encounter at Barrow was considerably tighter, the Yorkshire side prevailing 12-10.

Warrington's regular-season record meant they went into their game as the hot favourites as in their two previous meetings the Wire had won by a combined score of 114-0.

That reflected the dominance of their overall campaign, in which they won all 12 matches scoring 744 points and conceding just 30, and the fourth-placed Bulls were blown away in a first half which saw Sutherland score four tries alone.

She opened the scoring after just two minutes, Lucy Eastwood capitalised on an error at the scrum to double their advantage before Emily Baggaley helped make it 18-0 after just 12 minutes.

Sutherland scored three more tries before the interval, with captain Michelle Davis also grabbing one herself, as the hosts closed the half 40-0 ahead.

After the break Emily Downs, Dani Bound and Jessica Courtman touched down before Sutherland completed a second-half hat-trick with two minutes to go.

Featherstone's progress was much less serene as they saw their 12-0 half-time advantage whittled down to just two points in the second half but they held on to book their place in next Sunday's Grand Final at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
